He entered the Armed Services in 1941 and spent three and a half years overseas in the 43rd Engineers Company during World War II.
Harold married Mary Annalee Newman on May 22, 1945, adopted Mary ann and Louis in 1954 and later adopted Paula in 1967.
He pastored 5 churches, 2 in Missouri and 3 in Illinois. He was in the ministry for 57 years, 54 years as a Pastor. His greatest joy was the Church and Family.
Harold is survived by his wife, Mary; Son, Louis; Daughter, Paula and a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, and a daughter, Mary Ann
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Church of the First Born, 8213 N Alpine, Machesney Park. Pastors Dave Frederick and Wendell Maynard will be officiating. There will be a visitation the night prior from 5pm to 7pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine, Machesney Park. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
