Hazel Marie Holley, 98, of Springfield, IL, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 10, 2023. She was born September 15, 1925 in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Ramey) Eagleburger. Hazel married Osby Holley in January 1946. She was employed at AT&T, National Lock in Rockford and Goldblatt’s in Rockford. Hazel attended Together Church in Springfield. She enjoyed quilting, cross stitching and painting. Hazel loved baking and cooking; some dishes that will be missed are: chocolate chip cookies, tuna noodle casserole and French toast. She liked traveling with her daughter, sister and brother, especially to Europe.
Hazel is loved and missed by her children, Grady (Kathleen) Holley and Shirley Holley; grandchildren, Sarah (Melissa Holden) Holley and Deborah (Brett) Hartzfeld; great-grandchildren, Sasha and Judah Holden-Holley and Vivian and Oz Hartzfeld; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Osby, siblings William “Bill”, Thomas “Jack” and Irene.
A service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
