

Hermine (Mimi) Babette Krovitz nee Schwartzman, 76, of Caledonia Illinois died in her home on Thursday July 21st 2016. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Schwartzman on October 6th 1939 in Augsburg, Germany. Mimi lived in Germany until she was 16 years old, when she boarded a boat for the United States.
Mimi enjoyed a rich and full life and loved the world around her. She took regular trips to Chicago and to Germany. She enjoyed shopping with her children and grandchildren, playing Chinese checkers, A Game she was a master of and “Don’t Get Mad”, a German board game. Mimi had some activities that she enjoyed these included, spending time with her cats, working in her garden, and cooking. Above all the other things that brought joy to Mimi’s life however was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mimi is survived by; her husband Morris Krovitz, children; Barbara Gallus, Hallie Burdin, Scarlett (Suny) Havenith, grandchildren; Tanya Rice, Travis Stockwell, Ashley Gallus, Amanda Burdin, Jami Beall, Christy Havenith, Michael Havenith, Zachary Gallus, great grandchildren; Tristen Rice, Damon Rice, Brother Hantz, and sisters; Ruth, and Erna.
Mimi was preceded in death by; her parents Oma and Opa Schwartzman, brother Lotar, sister Emmie, and Bootsy her cat.
A visitation to celebrate Mimi’s life will be Sunday July 31, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 3:45 pm with a eulogy to end the visitation at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park.
