James Wear

James Wear Sr., 80, of Rockford, IL, passed away April 4, 2022. He was born on April 15, 1941 in Tellico Plains TN, the son of John and Nippie Wear. James was a deeply dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He married the love of his life, Reba “Carol” on December 2, 1961. Together they shared 2 children and 50 years in marriage. James enjoyed spending his time fishing at Four Lakes Forest Preserve, and spending quality time with his family. He had an amazing sense of humor, and loved making people smile. He was an avid gardener and would grow tomatoes to share with his friends and family. James served the Rockford community for many years, working at Commercial Wire for 24 years as a welder, he went on to work for Myco Inc. for 20+ years. He retired after many years as a supervisor there. He will be missed by many.

Survivors include his children; Sheila (Mike) Throgmartin, Jim (Vicky) Wear Jr., his grandchildren; David (Jessica), and Katelyn, as well as numerous extended family members and friends whom he loved dearly.

He is welcomed into heaven by his wife; Reba “Carol” Wear, his parents John and Nippie Wear, as well as siblings.

A funeral for James will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at 1pm until the time of service. Entombment will follow the services in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Rev. Mark Hullinger will conduct the services.
