

Jeffrey L. Baldwin, 70, of Loves Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, August 1, 2024 while holding his wife, Pat's hand and his family by his side. He was born January 5, 1954 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Charles H. and Mary L. (McCoullough) Baldwin. Jeff graduated from Saint Charles High School, class of 1972 and went on to receive his B.S. from Western Illinois University in 1976. He was employed at McKee Foods in Collegedale, TN, before moving to Loves Park and started at T.H. Foods in 1998, where he was Executive Vice President until his retirement in 2013. Jeff married the love of his life, Pat "Honey Bee," on July 1, 2011 in Maui. He enjoyed collecting John Deere Tractors, airplanes and cars. Jeff was an avid reader who loved going to Barnes and Noble to spend hours learning and reading books with Pat. You could find Jeff reading the Wall Street Journal or Consumer Reports every morning. He was a world traveler and would golf wherever he went. Jeff and Pat enjoyed going on day trips while riding the Harley or in the convertible.
Jeff was a loving and devoted husband, dedicated and caring father and grandfather. Jeff had a heart of gold and a great sense of humor. He always had a funny story to tell every person he came across. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Most of all, Jeff loved traveling and cruising the world with his wife, his forever "Honey Bee."
Jeff is loved and missed by his wife, Pat; children, Amanda (Brian) Sutalski, Kimberly Baldwin, Jeffrey J. (Amy) Baldwin, Robert (Claudia) Baldwin, Daniel Gastmann and Elizabeth Gastmann; grandchildren, Kathryn, Chloe, Holly, Noah, Piper, Andrew, Timothy, Joseph, Ella Rose, Aubrey and Ashton; sister, Delores (Michael) Horstmann; his furry friends, Fredrick and Abby; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Carl Baldwin and nephew Eric Lee.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mercy Hospice, especially Kim, Ngozi, Dawn, Susan, Mitch, Shana and everyone else who supported the family during this time.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Ron Haese officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
