Joseph F. Caiozzo

Joseph F. Caiozzo “Papa Joe” 63, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 9, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at Kindred Hospital, Sycamore, IL. He was born on October 4, 1948 in Rockford to Vincent and Mary (Mera) Caiozzo. He graduated from East High School in 1966. Worked as a custodian for the Rockford School District, Rockford Public Libraries and several nursing homes where he made many friends and was loved by all. He retired in 2001. He married Deanna (Gallagher) Caiozzo in October, 1991. She preceded in death on May 26, 2012. Joe loved nothing more than to relax in his favorite chair and watch every sport imaginable. He also loved spending time with his family. He always believed in doing the right thing and would always stand his ground to make his voice heard. He will be dearly missed. Joe is lovingly survived by his daughter Pamela (Keith) Skaggs, grand-daughter Hailey Skaggs, brother Sal (Debbie Cassioppi) Caiozzo, sister Josephine Caiozzo, nephew Vinnie (Sara) Caiozzo, great nieces Adele Caiozzo and Audrey Christensen, uncle Al Mera, aunt Josephine Varisco cousins Ann, Mary Kay, Tom and Sue.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and good friend Robert Hearns.
