

Judith Ann Marx, age 74, of Monroe Center, Illinois passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023. She was born March 1, 1949 to Virginia (Nesvig) Morley and Max Morley in Rockford, Illinois. Judy married the love of her life, James Marx on September 23, 1967 and they shared 54 years together before he passed in December of 2021.
Judy was a part of the Faith Sisters and the Nimble Fingers Clubs. She loved to sew, quilting especially was her specialty. She also liked to knit and crochet handcrafted items to donate to those in need. Judy was a giver, she loved to make things for others, especially baking for James’ sweet tooth. She and James would go on daytrips where they would just get in the car and drive with no destination in mind, only the joy of the journey. Antiquing was another one of her hobbies. Judy especially loved spending time with her family who she loved with her whole heart.
Judy is survived by her children, Tamara Hemenway and Kim (Lee) Marx; grandchildren, Dustin Marx, Rachel (Abel) Lopez, and Jared (Grace) Hemenway; great-grandchildren, Izayah Marx, Evelyn Lopez, Camille Lopez, and two on the way; brothers, Jim (Diane) Morley and Dennis Morley; brother-in-laws, Ed (Leslie) Marx, Steve Marx, and Randy (Pam) Marx; sister-in-laws, Linda Holder and Kathy (Richard) Stonecipher; and best friend, Debbie (Stan) Palmer; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Max Morley; husband, James Marx; son, Michael Marx; mother and father-in-law, Edward and Marjorie Marx; siblings, Bonnie Ripley and David Morley; brother and sister-in-law, Sherry Marx and Larry Holder; and nephew, Nick Marx.
A visitation for Judith will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
