Kathleen Marie May

Kathleen M. "Kathy" May, 66, of Rockford, IL, formerly of Miami, FL, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 29, 2026 surrounded by immense love. She was born August 5, 1959 in Newton, MA, the daughter of William and Kathryn (Mauer) May, Jr. Kathy graduated from Miami Dade College with her Associate Degree. She was employed by Miami Dade Public Schools for many years. Kathy had a strong Christian faith and was very dedicated to her beliefs in the Lord. She was very athletic, she enjoyed playing golf and tennis. Kathy enjoyed watching and cheering for the Miami Dolphins and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. She loved gardening and watching butterflies. She will be remembered for being extremely kind hearted and selfless. Most of all, Kathy adored being with her family and spending quality time together. She is greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Kathy is survived by her children, Joe (Lisa) May, Colleen (Tony Guzman) May, Becky (Chris) Blazer and Debbie Hussain; grandchildren, Charlie, Amelia, Guillermo, Elizabeth, Elijah, Gabby, Angie and Kayla; siblings, Bill May, III, Peter (Karen) May, Patti May, Terry (Emilio) Mallo and Tom (Angela) May; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Kathryn May and her granddaughter, Haley.
