Kenneth A. Zimmerman, 82, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on December 27, 2021. Ken was born in Leonore, Illinois on March 26, 1939 to Ralph and Mary Zimmerman. Ken graduated from Tonica Community High School in 1957. He went on to join the United States Navy in 1961, serving until 1966. During his time in the Navy Ken married the love of his life, Judy Goodbred on December 30, 1964. They spent 57 beautiful years together. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Ken began his career with AT&T and Lucent Technologies. He worked over 35 years for them before retiring in 2001.
Ken is survived by his wife, Judy Zimmerman; children, Daniel (Janet) Zimmerman, Thomas Zimmerman, Rebecca (William Cowden) Zimmerman, Cynthia Zimmerman, and Catherine (Chad) Lambert; grandchildren, Katelyn, Joshua, Isabella, Ava, Coleman, Flinn, Patton, and Briggs; sister, Sharon Gotch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mary Zimmerman; siblings, Shirley Wiesbrock and Wayne Zimmerman.
A Memorial Service for Ken will be held at a later date.
