Leonor Trejo 58, of Rockford, IL also known as "Noni" to her family and friends and "Ita" to her beloved grandchildren. Passed away on Friday November 19th, 2021. Leonor worked for quality metal finishing for over 20 years. She enjoyed going shopping with her daughters and sisters, getting her hair done and nails done. Watching "La Rosa de Guadalupe", vacationing, dining in different restaurants and as a tradition every year celebrating Mother's Day by going to Stockholm Inn for her favorite Swedish pancakes with her entire family. She enjoyed cooking for her family and made the best flour tortillas. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and watching her family grow. Leonor was good hearted, charitable and sacrificed everything for her children. She was very hardworking, independent and was known for her strong backbone. She had a brave heart and was a fighter up until her very last day. Leonor is survived by her husband of 40 plus years Jose L Trejo, children; Nancy Trejo (Gerardo Marquez) Melisa Trejo (Abraham Santos) Jose G Trejo (Nataly Perez) Karen Trejo (Rogelio Pinedo) grandchildren; Yairi Marquez, Alan Marquez, Alexa Marquez, Aj Resendiz, Gerardo Trejo, Leo Trejo, Mateo Pinedo. Mother Esther Carreño, sisters; Vita Carreño, Vira Carreño, Gloria Carreño, Lu Carreño, Rosa Carreño. Brothers; Saul Carreño, Herminio Carreño, Ramiro Carreño and Filiberto Carreño. Predeceased by her father who she missed dearly Gerardo Carreño known to her as her "viejito". Sister Con Carreño and brother Benjamin Carreño.
A visitation for Leonor will be held Monday, November 29, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois. A mass of christian burial to celebrate Leonor's life will occur Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 3004 11th Street, Rockford, IL 61109.
Leonor will be laid to rest in Chapel of Love at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL.
Family request mask be worn during the visitation and mass.
