

Lois D. McElyea, 69, of Machesney Park Illinois passed away Tuesday January 10, 2012 at Swedish American Hospital after battling pneumonia since October and passing away surrounded by his family. Born December 10, 1942 in Boydsville Arkansas; the son of Ben and Addie(Burkheart) McElyea. He was employed at Quaker Oats for 22 years and retired from Precision Group Inc. after 14 years of service. He loved fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. He was loved by many. He married Carol Chaudoin on July 5, 1964; Survived by wife Carol; daughters Wanda, Rhonda(Lee) Carter, and Michelle; Sons Ronnie, Lonnie, and Mike(Kelly) McElyea; Five grandchildren Amber, Casey, Tia, Michael and Matthew; two sisters Estle(Virgil) Moore and Vacle Burns; Predeceased by parents Ben and Addie McElyea, brothers Haskel LeRoy, Clois, Ray, Gene, and D.C. and sisters Demetrius, Charlene and Pauline.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, January 14, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road. Machesney Park, IL. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2012, the Pastor Winton Maki of Cornerstone, Mosinee, Wisconsin will officiate. Interment will be Private, Monday January 16, 2012 at 10am at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL. Memorials may be made to the family.
