Lori L. Hoftender, 52, of Rockford, IL, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at St. Anthony Medical Center surrounded by family. Lori was born October 14, 1971, in Belvidere, IL to Dennis and Joyce Hoftender. She graduated from Belvidere High School. After working for Belvidere Kmart for 28 years, and Meijer for 8 years, Lori has gained many friends. She enjoyed spoiling her nieces and nephews, reading, playing cards, and her cats.
Lori is loved and will be greatly missed by her father, Dennis (Janice) Hoftender of Belvidere, IL; sister, Lisa (Marc) Simpson of Loves Park, IL; brother, Scott (Stephanie) Hoftender of Loves Park, IL; nephews, Spencer Simpson, Riley Simpson, and Jake Hoftender; niece, Addison Hoftender.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Maxcy; stepfather, Noel Maxcy; and grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnebago County Animal Shelter, or the American Cancer Society.
A visitation for Lori will take place Monday, January 15, 2024, at 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115.
