

Lorraine L. Brilbeck, 83, of Rockford died Friday, February 19, 2010 after a short battle with lung cancer. Lorraine was born in Chicago on June 6, 1926 to Stanley and Stella Baranowski. Lorraine met her future husband Paul Brilbeck during World War II when he was stationed in Chicago with the US Army. They were united in marriage on November 22, 1945. Paul died April 12, 1998. Lorraine worked for Jewel foods, Weises, Chas A Stevens, Dittos and Country Accents of Rockford. Survivors include her sons Robert (Susan) of Rockford, Gary of Phoenix, AZ; daughters Ellen Putnam and Paula (Scott Schroeder) both of Peoria; eight grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; she is also survived by her long time friend Helen Dahlgren. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers: William, Edward, Gene and Richard. The family would like to thank Carol and Leroy Graber for all the help they provided to Lorraine as a neighbor and the staff of OSF Hospital/ Cancer Center and for their kindness to Lorraine in her last days. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Road. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 am at the church.
