

Mabel Merce Campbell, 85, of Rockford went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 9, 1927 in Wilson, AR, the daughter of Luther E. and Emma G. (Vaden) Allen. She married Ray C. Campbell on August 15, 1953 in Hernanda, MS.
A member of Rockford United General Baptist Church for many years, Mabel was a devout Christian, who attended services regularly, while her health permitted.
Mabel always loved being with family and friends, which meant the world to her. To know her was to love her. She was a great role model and we were blessed by having her in our lives
Survivors include her daughter, Belinda (Michel) Louya; sons, Steve, Stacey, Stanley, and Stuart (Rose) Campbell; grandchildren, Kiki, Mimi, and Ilese Louya, Amelia and Christopher Campbell; sister, Claudia (Dave) Jackson; sister-in-law, Vi Allen; brother-in-law, Ralph Morgan, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Predeceased by her husband, infant son, parents, granddaughter, Balita Louya; sister, Billie Morgan, brothers, Harold B. and Banks Allen; and sister-in-law, Betty Allen.
Funeral service, 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 31, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Pastor Don Wynn will be officiating. Visitation, 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
