

Mable Lois Carpenter, 96, of Searcy, Arkansas passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at The Crossing at Riverside. She was born January 2, 1926, in New Albany, Mississippi to the late Jake and Addie (Greenwood) Raines.
Mable was a member of the College Church of Christ. Her family was her number one priority in life.
Left to cherish Mable’s memory are her children, four sons, Tom Howard of Searcy, Arkansas, Glenn Howard (Cindi) of Rockford, Illinois, Jimmie Howard (Judy) of Florida, and Richard Carpenter (Diane) of Rockford, Illinois; one daughter, Mary Bridges (William) of Searcy, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Cindy Gurchick (Jim) of Searcy, Arkansas, Christy Perry (Keith) of Memphis, Tennessee, Beth Collins (David) of Searcy, Arkansas, Jesse Carpenter of Tennessee, Paul Howard of Rockford, Illinois, and Melanie and Gregg of Nashville Tennessee; one great-grandson, Leo Carpenter of Tennessee, seven other great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Barney Raines of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, Mable was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter-in-law, Patsy Howard, two brothers, and three sisters.
Celebration of Life Visitation will be held Saturday, April 30th at 1:00 PM, at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Rockford, Illinois 61115.
