Maralyn Kelley Russell, 87 of Rockford, IL. died Monday, April 23, 2018 in Amberwood Nursing Home. She was born In Rockford on June 30, 1930, to Glen and Louise Kelley. In a life well celebrated, Maralyn married JD Russell in 1956, and together they shared 47 years. He preceded her in 2003. Maralyn worked for Barber Coleman for over 30 years and was considered a valued employee. She would watch every western movie on T.V.. More than anything Maralyn loved horses and riding. She was a former member of the Roscoe Riders and Rigs club. She met her very dear and close friend Brenda Davis, while riding in Darlington, WI. Brenda had just finished a ride and was massaging her friend’s feet when Maralyn said “you can do mine next” and from there a life time friendship was established. Maralyn had a tender heart for her dogs, Sam and Taffy.
