Matthew “Matt” B. Ruthe, 48 of Machesney Park, Il. surrendered to his battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in his mom’s care. Born April 2, 1967 in Rockford, Il. to Fredrick and Kathleen (Hauch) Ruthe. Matt worked as a material handler for Specialty Screw for over 26 years. He was energized going into Chicago on the train with friends and family. Matt was a Star Wars champion, he loved all the movies and collecting memorabilia. The band Kansas was his favorite and he’d catch all of their concerts.
Survivors: mother, Kathleen; brother, Mark (Jennifer) Ruthe; nieces, Lydia and Rachel; nephew, Tom. Predeceased by father; longtime friend and companion, Mitzi Kashi.
