Maurice E. Irwin

Son of Charles Augustus and Marie (Haley) Irwin. As a young man, he worked on farms in Rushville. He then served his country in the United States Army which included time overseas during World War II. His talent of being able to fix almost anything mechanical was utilized at many companies throughout his career including Caterpillar, Estwing, Sundstrand and Zenith Cutter. Member of First Assembly of God Church where he served as an usher for many years. Maurice married Sophia Stivers on September 14, 1949 in Rushville, IL. She preceded him in death on November 15, 1990. He later married Marlene Estebo on November 26, 1992. She also preceded him in death on February 18, 2015.

Survivors include children, Karen (Jay) Furmanek, Richard Irwin, Glenn (Michelle) Irwin; grandchildren, Joel (Meryn) Furmanek, Ryan (Elizabeth) Irwin, Kaleb (Kayla) Furmanek, Matthew Irwin, Joshua Irwin; great-grandchildren, Eliana Irwin, Vincent Irwin, Evelyn Furmanek; sister, Mary Jane (Allen) Busby; special friend, Shirley Pearse. Preceded by his parents; spouses; brother, Russell Irwin. Family wishes to thank all of the Staff and Residents of Independence Village for the loving care and friendship they have given to Maurice over the last couple of years.
