Mayme E. Micho

Mayme E. Micho, 96, the eldest child of Ernest and Effie Berg, was born on July 3, 1924 in Spicer, Minnesota. She married the late Steve Micho on January 19, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mayme went to be with her heavenly Father on November 3, 2020. She passed at home surrounded by her loving children. She is survived by her children: Robert (Cynthia), David (Sharon Baranello), Judy (Dr. Patrick) Hayes, Diane (Christopher) Pecht, James (Janet Carlson), Mary Beth (Stanton) Melton, Dr. Joseph (Sindy) and John Micho. In addition, Mayme was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Of her five siblings, she is survived by brother, Gerald (Gail) Berg and sister Maxine (Mickey) Miller.

Mayme was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church since 1971. She worked for many years for General Electric and Sunstrand Aerospace, but her main calling was to raise her children with Christian values and to be productive citizens, which we know she accomplished.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to her caregiver and loving friend, Delois Jones. Also thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice for their compassion, help and understanding, especially Heather, Cynthia, Sandy, Deanna, and Vicki.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a livestream at www.facebook.com/SunsetFuneralHomeIL. A walk through visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Northern Illinois Hopsice or The Rock River Valley Pantry.
