Nancy Jean Marshall, age 64, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. She was born on March 3, 1960 in Rockford, Illinois to B. Colleen (Hallstrom) and Vernon J. Marshall. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1978 and worked in customer service for many years, including her most recent job at UW Health for the last 14 years.
She was an avid fan of the Rockford IceHogs and the Chicago Blackhawks. Nancy was a former member of the Rock Valley Cat Club and the IceHogs Booster Club. She attended many conventions pertaining to the TV shows and movies - Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Serenity. She even traveled to London in 2004 to attend a convention. Nancy loved to crochet.
Nancy is survived by her mother, Colleen Marshall of Machesney Park, Illinois; siblings, Kris Gray of Belvidere, Illinois and Walt (Susan) Marshall of Rockford, Illinois; nieces, Melissa (Mitchel) Thomas of Edgemont, South Dakota and Sheryl Gray of Machesney Park, Illinois; nephews, Matthew (Kali) Gray of Roscoe, Illinois, Jason (Julie) Marshall of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Jarrod (Penny) Marshall of Elliott, Colorado; great-nieces, Meadow Thomas of Edgemont, South Dakota and Callie Marshall of Colorado Springs, Colorado; great-nephews, Jeremiah (Ashley) Thomas of Mesa, Arizona, Kallin Thomas of Edgemont, South Dakota, and Brennan Folts of Machesney Park, Illinois; as well as numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Marshall; brother-in-law, Gregory Gray; grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family for the charity of their choice.
A memorial visitation for Nancy will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
Nancy will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115-2277; Chapel of Love.
