
N. F. (Johnny) Moss, 94, of Rockford IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Johnny was born on July 31, 1916, in Marseilles, IL. He married Clara C. Keller on September 12, 1942, at Camp Swift Field Artillery Chapel, Texas. He served in the Army during WWII. Johnny and Clara moved to Rockford from Ottawa IL, in 1969. He worked as an Arc Welder for Aqua-Aerobics Systems until he retired in 1982. Johnny and Clara are members of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a quiet and gentle man who dearly loved and lived for his family. Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Clara; daughter, Marilyn (LaVerne) Ohlwine of Roscoe; daughter-in-law, Laurie Moss of Peru IL; grandchildren, Michael Moss of Peru, and Julie (Jeff) Miller of Appleton, WI.; great-grandchildren, Carter and Brodie Moss, and Madeline and Mia Miller, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and a son, Jack Moss. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 20, at 11 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church 4401 Highcrest Rd, Rockford, IL 61107. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
