Norma Mae Wallis, 87, of South Beloit, IL, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, January 26, 2021 at the Citadel of Skokie from heart failure. She was born December 12, 1933 in Naylor, Missouri, the daughter of Norman L. and Ethel (Queary) Woolard. Norma worked at Tebala Towers, Service Master and enjoyed taking care of the elderly. She attended the Pentecostal Church. Norma enjoyed country, rock and blues music. She enjoyed dancing. Norma loved collecting Marilyn Monroe memorabilla and even told everyone her name was Norma Jean. She was quite the jokester; often saying “How did I come up with that!” Most of all, Norma loved life, getting dressed up in her bling and spending time with her family.
Norma is loved and will be missed by her children, Joey (Linda) Wallis, Cynthia Wallis, Michele Davis, and Tina Wallis-Black; grandchildren, Shondra, Daniel, Dylan, Savanna, Wesley and Jack; great-grandchild, Nia, Masyn, and Leya; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children William J. Wallis, siblings Ruth Ann Smith, Clarence and Pete Tisdale.
A walk through visitation will be held from 5-6:30 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a service to be held at 6:30 p.m. Private burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
