Paul L. Marshall

Paul L. Marshall, 91, of Rockford – Our loved one entered the presence of the Lord, Thursday, March 7, 2013. Paul was born March 17, 1921, in Mohawk, TN, to John and Molly (Golden) Marshall. He married Dorothy Mae Fricke on April 1, 1948, in Rockford.

He graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1940. He accepted the Lord as his personal savior in 1941 and faithfully attended Riverside Assembly of God. Paul started farming outside of Rockford in 1947 and worked through the harvest of 2011. He lovingly cared for his wife, Dorothy, while she suffered through Alzheimer’s disease. He was a wonderful brother, husband, father, grandpa, and great papa. He will be greatly missed by his family, but we have the assurance we will see him again in heaven.

Paul is survived by his sons Donald (Julie) Marshall and Michael (Cindy) Marshall; grandchildren, Joie (Eric) Hickenbottom, Paul (Emily) Marshall, Mandy Franklin, Amber (Josiah) Bell and Krista (Darren) Eddington; great grandchildren, Katelynn and Michael Franklin, Gabriel Hickenbottom, and True Bell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy, on August 18, 1995; daughter, Florence Mae in 1953; parents, and four sisters, Ada Lloyd, Helen Lane, Mable and Maggie Marshall.

Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Riverside Assembly of God, 4242 W. Riverside Blvd., Rockford, with Pastors Jim Moore and Truman Turner officiating.
