Penelope Kaye Wiltfong

Our forever baby, Penelope Kaye Wiltfong, made her early appearance to the world on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. On Mother’s Day her parents, Susie and Matt, were elated to find out they were expecting. Unbeknownst to most, Penelope was a hardworking assistant at Sizzlin’ Suzie’s Food Truck over the last 18 weeks. Penelope and Mom had many hot summer days together working the trailer, even making Mom eat Chili on the hottest day this year! Penelope’s “go to” was any breakfast sandwich from McDonald’s, and the occasional meal at Culver’s. She was a picky eater but had good taste for the most part. This brought on many happy kicks, with the earliest one being felt by others at 11 weeks.

Penelope’s name means “Weaver”, and she has woven our family together forever. Although our time with you was brief, time stopped as we held you and God welcomed you back into his Kingdom. In her time with us, she was strong. Penelope could hear every soft word we spoke to her, and she was comfortable. She truly passed away peacefully in her dad’s arms. Never once was she in distress. She had the longest little legs you have ever seen, which explained those powerful and happy kicks.

She is the beloved daughter to Susie Morrison and Matthew Wiltfong; cherished sister to Annabelle, Wyatt, Walker, and Rhiannon; treasured granddaughter to Paulette and Richard Wiltfong, adopted grandmother to Matt, Marilyn Dunn, Thomas and Debra Morrison, and Sheila Morrison; adored niece to Heidi and Daniel Wiltfong and Bryan and Gena Douglas.

She was welcomed to Heaven by her great-grandparents, Harry and Vera Wiltfong, Marcelle and Elton Kopplin, Joann Busboom, Westen Disbrow, William Morrison, Vernun and Bonnie Borrett; cousins, Michael Rutledge and Baby Taylor Wolf.

The family strongly encourages you to make a blood donation at the Rock River Valley Blood Center in Penelope’s Honor, as blood was needed during her birth, and ultimately saved Susie’s life.

A Celebration of Life for Penelope will take place Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home.
