Phyllis M Jackson

Phyllis Marie (Cudia) Jackson, 79, of Rockford, passed away November 12, 2021. She was born on October 4, 1942 in Rockford to Sam “Simone” Cudia and Goldie (Garr). Phyllis was a deeply devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Family was everything to Phyllis. There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her family. She married the late Jerry Franklin Jackson on August 2, 1961. Together they shared 4 children and 21 years in marriage. Phyllis enjoyed spending her time playing bingo, Pokeeno, and other card games with family and friends. She loved to bake and her family enjoyed her brownies and pumpkin squares. Phyllis also enjoyed her monthly sibling dinners, which started in 2003, to enjoy each other’s company and share family news. Her little dog, Precious, held a special place in her heart. Phyllis will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her children; Marie Jackson-Reck, Patricia (Greg) Fitzgerald, Jerry F. Jackson II, and Matthew (Melissa) Jackson, siblings; Ralph (June) Besand, Bernice (Pete) Lameyer, Barbara (Phil) LeGault, and Sam (Rosemary) Cudia, she is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great great granddaughter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members whom she loved dearly. She is predeceased by her husband; Jerry Jackson, sister; Lavonne (Bill) Richardson, and brother, Frank (Gloria) Cudia.

A visitation for Phyllis will be held Thursday November 18, at 1pm at Sunset Funeral Home, located at 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park IL 61115. Funeral services will begin at 2pm following visitation. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Food and fellowship after graveside ceremony at SM&SF club. Located at 1010 Sandy Hollow Rd. Rockford IL.
