After a long fight with Alzheimer's Disease, Phyllis Spade took her Maker's hand on January 12, 2020. Born in Ford River, Michigan, she and her beloved husband Douglas migrated to Rockford in 1949. He was a local sheet metal worker and she was employed at Condon Brothers, W.F. & John Barns, & Babcock Wilcox. They were members of St. Edwards & Holy Family Churches, loved ballroom, round, and square dancing, and enjoyed traveling.
Phyllis is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and many nieces and nephews. We will greatly miss her contagious smile, her loving and giving heart, and the many gifts of kindness she ministered to others. Services will be on Thursday, Jan. 23rd, at 2PM.
