Sandra L. Groth

Sandra L Groth, age 78, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. She was born on October 3, 1944 in Rockford, Illinois to the late William and Margaret Lamb. She married Milton Groth on August 6, 1965.

Sandi enjoyed gardening and canning in her free time. She loved to cook for her family and friends. Her specialty was her hot pork and salsa. She was a long time member of the Eagles Club where she would hang out and socialize with her loved ones. Above all, she loved to spend time with and spoil her grandkids and great grandkids.

Sandi is survived by her husband; her children Jeanie (Waylen) Turner, Sherry Biggs, Stacey (Lana) Groth; her grandkids Austin (Holly) Hertzner, Teeara (Christian) Courrejolles, Loren Hertzner II, Neana Biggs, Chase Stata, Chandler Groth; her 12 great-grandkids; her sisters Connie, Babe, Candice, and Sue; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter Jennifer Lamb; her brother Bill; and her sister Bonnie.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10AM at Sunset Funeral Home. Interment to take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115.
