Shirley V. Curtis, 91, passed away in the early hours of Monday, July 24, 2023, at St. Anne’s Nursing Home. Shirley was born to Albert and Lorraine (Heim) Quast on May 9, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Shirley married Donald Curtis, and spent 61 wonderful years with him before his passing in 2015. Together they had two daughters, Susan and Sandra. In their later years, they spent over 25 years in Ocala, Florida, enjoying the sun and various activities – especially bowling. Aside from bowling, she loved reading, crocheting, shopping and rooting on the Chicago Bears.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Susan Dolsen and Sandra (Vito) Ferro; grandchildren, Sheila (Chuck) Whaley, Teresa (Tim) Brown, Regina (Jason) Hillhouse, Kenny Bland, Carlee (Sean Carlson) Wheelon, Katherine Wheelon, and Tasha Wheelon; great-grandchildren, Brayton Hillhouse, Colton Whaley, Ayden Whaley, Makenzie Brown, Chloe Hillhouse, Morgan Brown, Jaidyn Bland, Maddex Brown, Teegan Carlson, and Kinslee Carlson; brother, Alan Quast; brother-in-law, Brad (Amy) Curtis; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Donald Curtis; parents, Lorraine and Albert Quast; brothers, Kenneth Quast, Keith Quast, and Spencer Quast; sister, Kathleen Scheidt.
A funeral service for Shirley will take place at Sunset Funeral Home on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 2:00 PM, with a visitation prior at 1:00 PM. Shirley will be entombed by her husband in Chapel of Peace at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
