Tamra "Tammy" Wise, age 64, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025. She was born October 25, 1960 in West Virginia, the daughter of Thurman and Norma (Mace) McCartney. Tamra graduated from high school and went on to receive her Associate's degree from Rock Valley College. She was employed as an Emergency Room nurse at all three local hospitals and went on to be a case manager at Excelon. Tammy was a faithful woman, whose goal in life was caring for people. She was loving, compassionate and always willing to lend a helping hand. Tammy loved watching the Golden Girls and forensic shows. Most of all, she adored her family, especially her grandchildren and her loving husky, Bandit.
Tammy is loved and missed by her sons, Joshua (Megan) Wise and Zachary (Allisha) Wise; grandchildren, Jaycee Barber, Ares Wise, Preston Wise and Maverick Wise; siblings, Kathy (Mark) Horwedel and Tim McCartney; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and several special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
