Timothy Paul Donoghue

Timothy P. Donoghue, 63, of Loves Park, Illinois passed away on August 3, 2023. Tim was born in Beverly, Massachusetts on September 18, 1959 to Paul and Margaret Donoghue. Tim was well liked by most everyone he met. What drew people to him was his sense of humor. His mother told him that when he dies he will go to hell, but he will be kicked out for having so much fun. Tim had his love; the ocean, music, golf, Red Sox Baseball, and the New England Patriots Football Team. On a serious note, Tim followed national politics and then found someone to discuss it with. He served in the United States Army from October 1976 to October 1979. While he was based in Germany, he soaked in the culture and really enjoyed Germany, Austria, Liechenstein, and Switzerland.

Tim is survived by his wife, JoAnn Donoghue; daughter, Megan Donoghue; step-children, Kevin (Amy) Armstrong, and Elizabeth Armstrong; grandchild, Natalia Rodrugues; step-grandchildren, Kyle Armstrong, Haley Armstrong, and Molly Armstrong; siblings, Deb Case, Stephanie (Charles) Meyers, Chris (Mary) Donoghue, and John Donoghue; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Donoghue and parents, Paul and Margaret Donoghue.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 1pm until a time of sharing at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115).
