

ROCKTON, IL. Valerio “Larry” Korsh, 68, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015 along with his wife, Lydia. Born January 16, 1947 in Villaj, Austria to Wasiley Zintschenko-Korsh and Paulina Gurow. Larry served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War for the E Company 2/506 INF 101 ABN Airborne Division Mortar Platoon, Hamburger Hill. In July 1970, he married Lydia Suchobrus and together shared 45 years while raising their four children. Larry was a carpenter by trade and worked for Carpenters Local 792. He was member of the Roscoe VFW, serving on the board and Color Guard. Larry enjoyed fishing, woodworking, working his farm, and especially watching and teaching his grandchildren. He was passionate about making his church as beautiful as the day it was built.
Together with his wife Lydia, they love to dance, travel, work together, but most importantly surround themselves with family and lots of food.
Survivors: children, Nick, Lenny, Tim (Heather) Korsh and Anastasia (Ron) Steger; grandchildren, Kyler, Isabella, Mathew, Sophia, Lydia, Jeremiah, and Alexandria; sisters, Cathy and Tania; brother, Eddie.
Funeral Services: 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18 with visitation 2:00-5:00 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL. Service 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19 at St. Vladimir Church, Rock City, IL. Burial following at Rock City Cemetery. ROCKTON, IL. Lydia Korsh, 67, passed away along with her husband Larry on Monday October 12, 2015. Born November 13, 1947, in Bobingen, Germany to Iwan and Selma (Hauff) Suchobrus. In July 1970, she married Valerio “Larry” Korsh and shared 45 years together while raising their four children. Lydia worked as rural postal carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years. She was a member of the Roscoe VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the sisterhood of St. Vladimirs Russian Orthodox Church in Rock City. Lydia enjoyed quilting and made a career of loving and caring for her family, cooking lots of food and entertaining family and many friends. Together with her husband Larry, they danced, traveled, cared for their farm and animals and embraced the love of their children and grandchildren.
Survivors: mother Selma; children, Nick, Lenny, Tim (Heather) Korsh and Anastasia (Ron) Steger; grandchildren, Kyler, Isabella, Mathew, Sophia, Lydia, Jeremiah and Alexandria; brother, Leonard Suchobrus; many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father.
