Wanda L Finch, age 82, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on December 14, 2025. Wanda was born on April 17, 1943 to Johnnie and Madie Giger in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was married to William Penhallegon, Leroy Tingelstad, and Chuck Finch. Wanda worked for many years at the Chrysler Assembly Plant.
Wanda enjoyed spending time outside, she liked to garden flowers. She loved to watch the birds. Wanda liked to travel to warm places like Mexico and Hawaii on vacation. She enjoyed riding horses and playing with dogs. Most of all, she loved her family.
Wanda is survived by her children, James A. Penhallegon Sr., Dianna L. Henderson, and David R. Tingelstad; granddaughter, Emily Henderson; great-grandchildren, Kaylie Henderson and Aria Finstad; sister, Evelyn Giger-Miller; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Madie Giger; son, William C. Penhallegon; grandchildren, James A. Penhallegon Jr., Tiffany Penhallegon, and Tabitha Henderson; and siblings, Ruby Giger, Betty Adams, Geneva Giger-Finley, and James Giger.
A visitation for Wanda will be held on December 29 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial rites to follow.
