Willie R. Halcom

Willie R. Halcom, 84, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, April 11, 2023. He was born April 22, 1938 in Walnut Ridge, AR, the son of Tillman and Opal (Holman) Halcom. Willie graduated from high school and joined the United States Army. He worked as a salesman at Colonial Bakery for many years and worked at Logli as a stocker. Willie was a hardworking man who enjoyed going bowling and golfing. He could be found socializing at the Verdi Club, Blackhawk Athletic Club, Venetian Club and Lombardi Club. Willie had a collection of beer steins and eagles. Most of all, the highlight of his life were his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Robin (Steve) Schroeder; grandchildren, Daniel (Sarah) Schroeder and Sara (Luke) Langholf; great-grandchild, Raven Schroeder; brother, Floyd (Lee) Halcom; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Steven Joseph Bradley Halcom and brother, Lowell Halcom.
