

Afaf Othman was born March 3, 1948 in Jerusalem, Palestine. She became a grade schoolteacher, educated hundreds of students throughout her career and positively touched the lives of thousands of others throughout her life.
It’s impossible to sum up in words the beautiful human that Afaf was. She was always creative, innovative and blessed with an indomitable spirit. She was an artist at heart and in practice. Her art ranged from handcrafts, painting and silk work to poetry, prose and photography. She shared and passed on this love of art to her grandchildren.
Afaf was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and wife. She loved to cook delicious food and to feed all those around her. She gave generously and her hospitality had no limits. Her home and heart were always open to everyone from family to strangers in need.
She was a positive thinker and a lifelong learner. Her kind spirit always found the positive in things, and she had a strong relationship with God and her faith. She was an extremely intelligent woman who would gladly share her wisdom with those around her, but was always humble enough to learn from them with an open mind.
Afaf was preceded in death by her parents Ahmad and Muyassar Kabbani, her husband Ribhi Othman, her sister Enaya, and her brother-in-law Dr. Mufid Othman. She is survived by her children Sinan, Anas, and Zeina. Her grandchildren Laila, Yusef, Jenna, Loulya, Aya, and Haya. Her sisters Aida, Ismat and Wafa. Her nephew Samer as well as many other nieces and nephews.
