Durward was born December 30th, 1952 in Macon, Georgia, to Alva and Montine Hutchins Ware. He graduated from Mark Smith High School in Macon in 1971 and afterwards Georgia Southern University in 1975. After college, Durward lived in the Savannah area for several years before returning to Macon.
If you knew Durward, there is a good chance many of your conversations with him were about food. Durward loved to cook and was quite good at it, notwithstanding his persistent grumblings that his dishes were ‘missing something.’ He worked in various areas of the food industry throughout his career.
Durward is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children, Taylor (Emily), Brayden, and Caroline Ware; his sister Gena (Steve) Wilson and her son, Wesley (Marina), and his family; and his grandson, Garrett Ware.
A celebration of life will be held at Healy Point Country Club at 293 River N Blvd, Macon, GA 31211 on Friday, September 23, 2022, from 1 PM - 5 PM.
In lieu of flowers, treat yourself to a good meal.
