

Byron Murray Parrott, 90 of Macon went to his heavenly home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 1st. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in Snow’s Pio Nono Chapel. The Rev. Tim Long will officiate with burial in Macon Memorial Park.
The family will meet friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Parrott was born in Manchester. He was the son of the late Murray Parrott and the late Sally Chapman Parrott. He was a graduate of Manchester High School, and in his early years was employed by Calloway Mills in Manchester. Mr. Parrott was retired from Armstrong World Industries in Macon. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U. S. Army. During his service to his country, Mr. Parrott served under General George S. Patton in the Third Army, 177th Field Artillery, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Mr. Parrott will always be remembered for his great sense of humor even during his declining health. He was a humble, gentle, kind hearted man who left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He loved being outside, working in his yard and wood working.
Mr. Parrott was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was a former member of Bloomfield United Methodist Church and currently a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mr. Parrott was preceded in death by his wives, Lois Huey Parrott and Sylvia Williams Parrott. brothers and sisters; Eva Mae Koon, Lee Donia Windham, Preston Parrott, Roy Parrott, and James Parrott.
Mr. Parrott is survived by his daughter and son in law; Judy Parrott Becham and Tony Becham of Macon, grandson; Chan Becham of Macon, stepson, Lawrence (Cindy) Davis of Bonaire, stepdaughter; Alicia Conyers of Manning, South Carolina, step grandsons; Wesley, Christopher, Brandon, and Hunter, his step granddaughter; Lauren, and his sisters; Shirley Parrott, Zannie Bennett, Mayo McDonald, and Eloise Sherrer, and also his sister in law, Betty Parrott, and several nieces and nephews.
