Carl Alton Davis, 88, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 surrounded by his family. A Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hills United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dianne Sweckard and the Rev. Teresa Edwards officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon GA 31210 or donor’s favorite charity.
Alton was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Lonnie and Glodie Molton Davis. He was retired from Fincher’s BBQ after sixty-two years of service. Alton was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church, Grace Bible Sunday School Class and the Stephens Ministry. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Coley Davis of Macon, daughter, Susan Davis Edenfield of Macon, son, Carl Alton “Chip” (Chris) Davis, Jr., four grandchildren, Lauren (Ryan) Stewart, Steven (Chelsea) Edenfield, Rachel Davis, James Davis, great grandchildren, Michaella Stewart, Michael Stewart, Grayson Stewart, Waylon Edenfield.
