

Carl Elyotte Westmoreland, 85, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Vineville Baptist Church. Burial will be private for the family. The family will greet friends on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Carlyle Place, 5300 Zebulon Road, Macon GA. Donations may be made to Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Ave., Macon GA or Vista Care Hospice, 319 Margie Drive, Warner Robins GA 31088.
He was born in Rutherfordton, North Carolina to the late Elyotte and Annabel Logan Westmoreland. He was preceded in death by his son, Martin Willis Westmoreland. He served in the United States Navy, during World War II, attended Mars Hill College in North Carolina and graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer in 1950. He practiced law in Macon for over fifty years, most of his career with the firm of Westmoreland, Patterson and Moseley. He was a former chairman of the Bibb County Salvation Army and deacon of Vineville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Blanche Willis Westmoreland of Macon, children; Carl (Marie) Westmoreland, Beth W. Jensen, and Susan W. Dann, nine grandchildren; Carl Westmoreland, III, Mary Westmoreland, Logan Westmoreland, Kohler Jensen (William) Sartain, Richard (Sarah) Jensen, Hope Jensen, Suzanna Dann, Rosemary Dann and Celia Dann.
