Carlton Wellborn Jones, 95, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022. A Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Hills Baptist Church. Rev. Cass Ducharme will officiate. The family will greet friends in the sanctuary following the service. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery. Wellborn was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Robert T. and Beaulah Pauline Daniel Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Sara Edna Rodgers Jones. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was retired as an accountant with Amerson Construction. He was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church and was active in his Sunday School Class. He was a member of the American Legion, Moose Club and the Civitan Club.
He is survived by his children, Carlton Wellborn Jones, Jr. of Macon and Ellen Jones Scott (Tom) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Christopher Scott of TX, Lauren (Patrick) Costello of NC, great granddaughter, Lakelyn Costello and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the caregivers of Pine Pointe Hospice for their compassion and comfort given to Wellborn.
