Born in Yankton, South Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Vince and Rhea Smitzenkamp Rossiter. She was a retired attorney, specializing in social work and being a public defender in Omaha, Nebraska. After moving to Macon, she earned a PhD in Sociology from the University of Georgia and taught courses at the University of Georgia and taught social studies in the master’s Program at Valdosta State University. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Greta Franz and Phyllis Schremp. And a brothers, V.E. Rossiter and Don Rossiter.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Stephen Edward Sturek Jr, Children, Richard “Sonny” Albers, and Guy Albers, Sister, Mary Beth Rossiter, brother, Max Rossiter; granddaughters, Carol Ann Albers, and Claire Albers; grandson, Righteous Albers.
