

Charles “Chuck” Milton Wachob, 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at North Macon Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Hunter Stevenson officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, Georgia with Pastor John Albano officiating with Military Honors. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Macon Presbyterian Church, 5707 Rivoli Drive, Macon GA 31210.
Chuck was born on September 8, 1942, in Robertsdale, PA to the late Harry Milton and Constance Elizabeth Stouffer Wachob. He graduated high school 1960 from Middletown Area High School in Middleton, PA and in 1964 he graduated from the Citadel in Charleston, SC. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1964 – 1969 stationed at Turner Air Force Base in Albany, GA, Mactan Air Base in the Philippines and Barksdale Air Base in Bossier City, LA. He retired as a Physical Director and Executive Director of YMCA’s in Louisiana and Georgia.
Chuck wrote two books, “Welcome to the United States Air Force and a children’s book, “Why Geese Waddle and Ducks Don’t”. Chuck was a member of North Macon Presbyterian Church, and his greatest joy was worshipping every Sunday with his church family and participated in small group and mid-week Bible studies. He played all sports, enjoyed fishing, collecting rocks, kitchen antiques, coins and most anything odd or unusual. Chuck loved nature, beautiful scenery, sunsets, sunrises, feeding geese, birds and squirrels. He truly enjoyed teaching his grandchildren to fish, play cards, play racquetball and especially enjoyed attending all the grandchildren’s activities. Chuck enjoyed helping others, particularly those who were often overlooked and he always had a joke or story to tell and got pleasure from seeing others laugh.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Clark Wachob, children, Scott Wachob and Amy Elizabeth (Clay) DeLoach, three grandchildren, Davis DeLoach (Elena) Nathan DeLoach, and Neely DeLoach, sister, Shirley Elston (Bob) and brother, George Wachob (Sue).
