Charlotte J. Byrd

Charlotte J. Byrd, 56, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Hershel Sizemore and the Rev. Billy Flowers will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6 - 8 p.m., Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 319 Margie Drive, Warner Robins 31088 or to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 4770 Sardis Church Road, Macon 31216.

Mrs. Byrd , a lifelong resident of Macon, was a graduate of River North Academy. She was a Vice President and Mortgage Lending Officer with BB&T Bank and during her thirty years’ employment received many distinguished awards including Sterling Performer and Best of the Best. She attended Lighthouse Baptist Church. Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her father, Charles Newell Jackson, her mother-in-law, Ann Byrd and her father-in-law, Hugh Byrd, Sr. Charlotte was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.

Survivors include those who loved her most, her husband of thirty-one years, Hugh D. Byrd, Jr.; her children, Ryan (Stacey) Byrd and Jenna Byrd; her mother, Shirley Jackson; sister, Sheila Perkins; brother, Charles “Ricky” (Melinda) Jackson; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Vicky Walters and Nancy Preston.
