
Donald Charles Eubanks of Macon died on October 9, 2014 at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, October 13, 2014 at Christ Episcopal Church with the Reverend Joseph Shippen officiating. Burial will be private for family only at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence. Those who wish may make contributions in Don's memory to Stratford Academy, Historic Macon Foundation or the Georgia Industrial Children's Home.
Born in Macon, he was the son of the late Charles Ralph Eubanks and Dorothy Slappey Eubanks and was predeceased by his brother, John Smith Eubanks. A graduate of Lanier High school and Florida State University, he received an M.B.A from Georgia College and a graduate banking degree from Rutgers University. Don was a senior financial advisor at Merrill Lynch and was an active member of his community, serving on the board of trustees of The Georgia Children's Home, Stratford Academy, Historic Macon Foundation, The American Red Cross, the Bibb County United Way Campaign and the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce.
He was a member of the Macon Civic Club, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, Idle Hour Country Club, Leadership Macon, and Christ Episcopal Church. Don served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star.
He is survived by his wife, Martha McKay Eubanks, and four children; Charles Walters Eubanks (Mary Lynn), Elizabeth Eubanks Culp (Derek), Dorothy Eubanks Spratling (Gray), and John David Eubanks (Katherine); and his brother, David Ralph Eubanks. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Griffin, Mary Grace and Mack Eubanks; Sam, Mimi, and Eliza Culp; Jack and Milly Eubanks.
