

Edith Walker Middlebrooks Butler, 85, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Zebulon Park Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Tim Hemingway will officiate. The family will greet friends following the graveside and may be contacted at the residence.
Mrs. Butler had been a resident of Macon for most of her life. She was educated in Bibb County Schools. Mrs. Butler was a member of the Cherokee Heights United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Wesley Crusaders Sunday School Class. She was a former member and secretary of the Official Administrative Board and was a volunteer with the American Red Cross. Mrs. Butler was the daughter of the late Minnie Henderson Walker Middlebrooks and Silas Henry Middlebrooks. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Butler Bush and a grandson, Mack Cannon.
Her life has been devoted to her husband and family. She is survived by her husband, Dr. J. Mack Butler, Jr. of Macon; daughter, Nancy Butler Cannon (Randy) of Bolingbroke; grandchildren, Wilbur E. Bush, III and Eric Bush (Bryn); great-grandchildren, Aidan Bush, Amelia Bush, Mack Bush and Caitlan Bush; brothers, Henry Middlebrooks (Shirley) and Sid Middlebrooks (Susan); sister, Lynne Kernaghan (Gene); special nieces & nephews.
