A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon, GA with Alan J. Braswell officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the cemetery.
Mr. Braswell was born in Fort Pierce, Florida on October 12, 1927 to Henry Grady Braswell and Celestine Mixon Braswell. When he was two years old, the family moved to Middle Georgia where they finally settled in Macon.
Ed graduated from Lanier High School in Macon in 1945. After attending a local business school, he was employed at Macon’s new container board mill-Georgia Kraft Company. In 1950 he was married to Sara Annette Hooker.
A longtime resident of Macon, he was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Finance Chairman, Trustee, and Sunday School Teacher. A man of sterling character, he exhibited a winsome personality, always ready to find a new friend.
After 42 years of service, he was retired from Georgia Kraft Company as Purchasing Agent in 1989.
He and Sara left Macon in 2013 to live in Wilkesboro, NC near relatives. They presently are members of Wilkesboro Baptist Church.
He is predeceased by his son, Timothy E. Braswell, a brother, Henry G. Braswell Jr., and a sister Jannis B. Driver.
His devoted surviving family members are: his wife of 70 years, Sara; sons, Alan J. Braswell (Donna), Joel E. Braswell (Lori); daughter, Emily B. Aceituno (Rick); daughter in law, Jennifer S. Braswell; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
