

Eleanor M. Stranahan, 88, passed away on Thursday, November 14th. Her funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 18th at Bloomfield United Methodist Church with the Reverend Cile Mitchell and Reverend Charles Cravey officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, November 17th from 3 – 5 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono. Mrs. Stranahan was born in Hapeville, Georgia to Bessie Clance Mellgam and George Mellgam. She was the widow of Willard Arthur Stranahan. Mrs. Stranahan lived most of her life in Macon and was educated in the Macon public school system. She was retired from Adams Distributing Company. Mrs. Stranahan and her husband Bill were the former managers of Mumford Do It Yourself Store on Walnut Street for many, many years. She was a member of Bloomfield United Methdoist Church where she was very active with the United Methodist Women and taught Sunday School. Her life centered around her family, her church and her work.
Survivors include her son, Willard A. (Bill) Stranahan Jr. of Macon; her sister, Faye Jones of Eatonton; and several nieces and nephews.
