Frederick Allen Koester, 92, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2022 in a local hospital. He was the son of George Rudolph Koester, Jr. and Helen Ladd Koester, born Feb 9, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and grew up in South Carolina, growing up in a large family with three brothers and two sisters.
A former member of Cherokee Heights United Methodist Church, he was presently a member of Forest Hills UM Church and the Faithful Friends Class.
Fred retired as Field Manager for Snap-on, Inc.; after which he owned and operated Quality Machine and Hydraulic Repair Service for over thirty five years.
He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and recently honored in an Honor Flight to Washington, DC. Fred was a 50 year 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Mabel Lodge, #255. He was also a member of Howard Community Club.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Monie Hubbard Koester of Macon; two sons, LTC Robert F. Koester, of Vienna, GA, and Rudolph N. Koester and his wife, Kim of Macon, a step granddaughter, Kami Leverette (Jason) of Macon.; a brother, John D. Koester; one sister, Eleanora Clanton, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; also numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Fred was also known for his special oatmeal cookies, baked each Christmas to spread Christmas cheer to friends, family and co-workers. Those who couldn't remember how to pronounce his last name would remember his cookies.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Snow's Memorial Chapel Bass Road with visitation following. Rev. Romelle Martin Jones will officiate.
