Garris "Pete" Walker Carter

Garris "Pete" Carter, 67, of Dry Branch, Georgia departed this life on Sunday Oct. 28, 2012. He was born to the late Cleveland and Ellen Walker Carter on July 31, 1945. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at Snow's Memorial Chapel on Cherry Street, Macon. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday October 30th at 3:00pm at Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church, Kite, GA. Burial will follow at Gumlog Cemetery. Visitation and viewing will be held one hour prior to service.

"Pete" was a 1964 graduate of Wrightsville High School, Wrightsville, GA. He was employed in the banking and insurance industry for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 46 yrs., Jane Claxton Carter, his son, Jason Carter, and daughter, Amanda Hunt (Levi), grandchildren, Brianna Carter, Jacob Carter, Becky McCants, and Baylee Hunt, brother Billy (Lindal) Carter, of Wrightsville, GA., Other loved ones include Tracy Watson, Wesley Watson and Linsey Watson; sisters in law, Paige (Bobby) Riley, and Linda Claxton; Nieces and nephews include Derek Carter, Chan (Erica) Carter, Jeff (Catherine) Riley, Jeremy (Kristy) Riley, Logan Eckman (Jesus) Gonzalez, and Cameron Claxton.
