

Gladys Hall Hollis, 98, of 5300 Zebulon Road, died Sunday, August 3, 2014. Funeral services will be private. The family will receive friends from 11 until 12 noon Thursday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street, Macon. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Martha Bowman United Methodist Church, 500 Bass Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Born in Macon, GA on May 14, 1916, Gladys was the daughter of the late Sam Hall, Sr. and Gladys Minton Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Burton Hollis, III and her daughter, Ruth Hollis Beckley.
Gladys graduated from Miller High School for Girls and received a degree from Georgia State College for Woman in Home Economics. She was a homemaker and a member of Howard Community Garden Club, Daughter of the American Revolution, Macon Little Theatre and Martha Bowman United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener, loved the beach and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Burton Hollis, IV (Peggy) and Sam Hall Hollis (Kay); a daughter, Gladys Hollis Jensen and two grandchildren.
