

Gladys Williams Windham, 92, passed away on Monday, September 7 in a local assisted living facility. Funeral Services will be held at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street on Thursday, September 10 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating. Burial is private for family only. The family will greet friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. at the Funeral Home on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church, 939 Wesleyan Drive, Macon 31210 or the donor’s choice.
Gladys was born in Laurens County to the late Henry Virgil and Ola Mullis Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Bryant Windham; her siblings, Albert Williams, Calvin Williams, Avis Wood, and R. H. Williams; and sister-in-law, Eula Windham. Gladys lived most of her life here in Macon. She was employed by INA/CIGNA until 1974. Gladys was a charter member of Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church and a member of the Good News Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Wells of Macon; grandson, Assistant Fire Chief Shane (Mickie) Edwards of Macon, great-grandchild, Emily Edwards of Macon; siblings, H. Al Williams of Macon and Evelyn Greeson of Birmingham, AL.
